Our Pride and Joy in Texas

Here he is, our newest grandchild, Sawyer Nathaniel Baker. We think he looks a lot like Andrew did at this stage, he has some of Sarah's fine features as well. Sawyer is about 3 weeks old here. Only two more weeks and we'll get to see him in person. We can't wait.

The Great UnValentine Event

This is the scene of the Great UnValentine Event hosted by Operation Us -- the federal grant Jennifer directs. The event was held at the the University Plaza and featured speaker Dr. John Van Epp, author of How to Avoid Marrying a Jerk. This community event was intended to help people recognize and foster healthy relationships, as well as avoid bad ones.

Mid February Activities

Jasmine and Addison came to visit last Friday night so their dad could borrow some shirts and ties in order to present a professional image while hobnobing in Germany for the week. Paul is hopeful that the Germans will not mistake Alex for a Lutheran principal, given his "55-year-old administrator attire."
The girls love their daddy and light up when he enters the room. It will be a long week without him.

2008 Ice Storm

These are scenes from our backyard after the ice storm that occurred on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Fortunately, we did not personally lose power this year, but Paul's school was without power for three days. They were just restored tonight and school will be back in session tomorrow. Moms across Springfield are cheering.
