Shop Till You Drop

What a fun day for the girls! Off to the Springfield Farmers' Market to shop the fresh line of produce. Jennifer showed the grop her favorite haunts around Springfield. We met with Penny for lunch at the T-Bar & Bites and had a "bite." You should see all the fun things we found and bought.
Sue was impressed with the FM store. Not much room but packed with interesting left overs from other material stores. We could have spent all day dreaming dreams of new projects.

Here is house husband, Paul, picking up our produce so we didn't have to worry about the fresh fruit getting too warm. He filled his day baking and getting ready for pizza for supper. What a guy! We all worry about his dish washing thing.

Girl Friends Shopping - Branson

What a day for shopping in Branson - Warm and Sunny. The girls got to Branson mid morning and shopped the day away. Jan got a new outfit to wow them at school.
Lots of items were discussed at the cooking store. Got some new items like the flexible muffin baking thing. So much excitment for an art so seldom used.

Look out Ron, Sue was busy in J Jill for quite some time. Be on the watch for new items. House husband, Paul grilled the atlantic salmon for that special light fish meal for the tired shoppers.

JB Entertains Friends

Here Jennifer enjoys a relaxing dinner on the deck with Jan from Belvidere and Sue from Livingston IL. Don't they look relaxed.

Questions were raised about the brown spots on the Baker's back yard. It seems Paul has used Roundup to fight against the johnson grass taking over his back yard. All the ladies voted against using roundup in the future. What do they know about lawn care???

Sawyer's Return Visit

Thursday, July 11, Sawyer and his parents, Andrew and Sarah, passed through Springfield on his way home to Texas. He was happy with the thought of sleeping in his own bed again, but even more tickled that he got to see his Missouri grandparents again along the way. Here he is in our kitchen dressed in the same onesie his daddy wore when he was 5 months old, the same age as Sawyer in this photo. We were delighted to see what a strong and happy little boy he is and happy to know his parents had a great month introducing him to family and friends along the way from Texas to Minnesota to Missouri.

Smart Marriage Conf--San Francisco

In early July we journeyed to San Francisco to the Smart Marriage conference. Here you see a view of the Golden Gate Bridge from our 35th floor hotel room. Below you see that same view as it appeared MOST of the time. It's cool in SF in July (mostly 60s and breezy), which means a lot of fog occurs near the bay in the morning and sometimes all day.

While we were in SF we toured Alcatraz, actually one of our favorite parts of the trip. If you plan to do this, get your tickets in advance as they sell out early and only so many are allowed on the ferry to and from the island. Also, as you can tell from the photo below, you need to dress warmly. I wore a long sleeve shirt, two fleece jackets and ear warmers and found it just about right.
