Erinn and Justin - The Wedding

Erinn Beckman (daughter of my first grade teacher Gary and daughter of Jennifer's assistant, Phyllis) was married to Justin Metcalf on Saturday. It was a beautiful service and they are a dear dear couple. God's richest blessing on each of them and their marriage.
We (Jennifer and I) got to take them to the park for photos. Took this one while the real photographer was working with them...
During the wedding service Justin surprised Erinn with a special song. This is one talented family as the brothers took up instruments and played along.
All three Beckman girls were in the wedding, Erinn in white, Jamie who lives in New York (fourth from the left) and Robyn, who lives and works in Springfield, (on the far right). Lots of lovely ladies in and at this wedding... You should have seen Jennifer...

Art For Haiti

Tonight we were invited to join the art elite of Springfield at an "Art for Haiti" show. Dear friend Penny GC was selling a couple of pieces. We so enjoyed talking with Pen and Ken and Penny's parents who are up from San Antonio... Pen is standing by her painting and Paul and Jennifer are pictured by their personal favorites of the show. Art is such a freeing experience.

The Girls Head North to Run a Conference

Jennifer and Phyllis Beckman took in the sights of Chicago during their visit for the MHCC. Here they are in front of the Millenium Bean.

The pansies were just getting started in Grant Park during the third week in April -- quite a contrast to the full bloom going on in southwest Missouri at that time.

Fortunately, the large fountain was turned on -- it had not been the previous year -- so this was a nice surprise. The two of them had a nice view of Lake Michigan, Grant Park and the fountain from their rooms on the nineteenth floor of the Blackstone Hotel during their visit.

Easter Breakfast At Redeemer

It is time to show off your Easter hats. Miss Addie and Miss Jasmine were happy to model. Miss Stella was not so eager to don her new hat. Maybe next year. Alex impressed everyone when he arrived with his new suit on... Styling! Ms. Miriam and Dr. Jennifer were looking good even with out new Easter hats.

Snow Day Fun - Thursday

Papa found sleds at K-mart and Alex hurried home from work and all had a great time on the hills. In the photo above we were practicing in the house waiting for Alex to get home ...
It was so much fun ... Jasmine allowed us to ride with her on the sled ...
Addison, on the other hand, was a solo sleder. Stella watched a lot and seemed to enjoy going down the hill in a gentle manner. She got some red cheeks while on the slopes. We had to keep a close eye on her so someone didn't grab her and take her home because she is so cute. (That's a grandfather talking there.)

Alex had his "Wellies" on and nearly froze his feet off - he needed more socks. The sledding hill is behind our house and across the creek. Or as the song says, "Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house ..." Sorry this is late... We just got connected to the internet again after being out for the better part of two weeks with our dear friends at "Media Con." It is all looking good for the moment, so I thought I better take this opportunity to post.

Lunch With Friends in Branson

We were able to visit with our friends, the Kolbs, at Chester's in Branson. Great food and the world's best bread pudding ... Barry and Nancy are enjoying a week of rest and relaxation at Big Cedar. Nancy is working puzzles and Barry has attended basketball games at College of the Ozarks. We worked together in Belvidere, IL in the early eighties. Barry and Nancy live and work in Texarkana, Texas. It was such fun to see them.
